Tips to improve your PC’s performance

1. Make sure your PC is up to date.

Go to Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Update  > Check for updates to make sure your PC is up to date. You’ll get device driver updates too, which help improve PC performance.

2. Disable unnecessary startup apps.

Go to Start  > Settings  > Apps  > Startup and turn off everything you don’t need.

3. Clean up unwanted files with Storage Sense.

Go to Start  Settings  > System  Storage  to set up Storage Sense—it'll automatically free up space by removing unnecessary files.

4. Balance PC performance with battery use.

Choose the power mode that works for you—getting the best battery life, best performance, or a balance between the two. To change power modes quickly, select the Battery  icon on the taskbar, then drag the slider.
